My GoogleFu must be weak, because I can't find anyone else that's having this problem. The closest I found was a guy who didn't change the settings in MS Dash. I'm trying to get my new Optoma HD70 set up with my old school xboxes, and I'm running into a weird problem.

I went through MS Dash to enable 720p, and then rebooted to XBMC. Flubber comes up, source shows as 480i - no big whoop, the flubber is only 480i. XBMC pops up - everything fine, shows the source as 720p. However, whenever I launch a file, it searches for the source again and changes to 480i. This causes the picture to look like total crap. I've also tried it using my X2VGA2, and that just outputs 640x480 all the time - and the image is all fubared.

I used to have a Mitsubishi SL1U, which I ran through the X2VGA2 (and an X2VGA awhile back), and it output 720p just fine. Nothing changed or even flickered when I opened files. The Optoma just keeps trying to rescale the image I guess. It's also really annoying because everytime I open/close a file, it searches for the source and changes resolution, during which time the screen is blue. This process takes a good 30 secs.

Please help me! This is supposed to be a really fantastic pj, and I really don't want to have to send it back and start shopping for a new one. Thank you very much in advance, I appreciate any and all help.

*EDIT* Running XBMC-SVN_2007-07-09_rev9530-T3CH on a 1.2, haven't tested my 1.3 gamebox yet (which should run fine at 480p).
