View Full Version : Upgrade to the Panny AE1000 coming soon?

I have a Panny AE700 that is almost 3 years old now.

I've been thinking about upgrading to the AE1000 to get a brigher, full 1080p HD picture.

Also, my AE700 has really bad vertical banding now that the bulb has so many hours on it, I usually let it warm up for an hour or more before I watch a movie or TV show if I have the time because the VB tends to fade away as the PJ warms up.

Anyway, the reason for my post is that I notice that Panny typically releases a new PJ model in October/November of each year, so I figure they may be coming out with a "new, improved" version of the AE1000 in a couple of months.

Anybody heard any rumors about what might be coming?

For what its worth, last year at this time we already knew about the 1000. It was at CEDIA but not actually showing (just in a case). I can't remember when it actually started shipping - I think a month or two after CEDIA. I know the Projectorreviews.com original article was from November.

Well the big show is just around the corner here. So you don't have to long to wait.

If it doesn't show up in Denver, I don't think it will show up this year.

Well I have not seen any rumors, and you are right, by now the rumors of the AE1000 had been around for a long time.

Yes, the new Panasonic 1080p will be under a glass case at Cedia just like last year's AE1000U. The unit will probably not begin shipping until December.
