I just received my Klipsch RSW-10d sub that I ordered from a non-authorized on-line dealer. It's a digitally controlled sub and after about 10 minutes of use, the display screen showed unreadable numbers/letters and then went blank. It was still lite-up but didn't show your functions. I cycled power a few time with no help.

I called the place I ordered it from. They said no problem, we'll send you another one. Well, after I got off the phone, it started working again.

My question is should I still trade this one in for a different one, or just keep this one? It doesn't have a factory warranty

I'd trade it in for a new one. I know that's a hassle, but chances
are if you had problems with it you will have problems again.

Even better, try to get your money back, and go with a authorized
Klipsch dealer.....just my opinion, .....vardo

Are you saying the sub quit working or just the display?

Agreed. Why jeopardize your warranty coverage? Also, you have to wonder what the source of the sub is? Was it a freight damaged unit to begin with that was supposed to be returned to Klipsch for repair and was instead sold to the unauthorized dealer? I've had only one Klipsch sub in all the units I've sold that ever had a problem and it turned out to be a bent woofer basket from being dropped during shipping. Otherwise, they are all out there working perfectly and I know that my clients are covered for repairs by the factory if anything does happen.

Just the display quit working properly for a little bit.

I wonder if the display went through a initialization or something. Before it quit working, I didn't have as many settings as I do after is started working again. I know the "Phase" settings where not there before and maybe a some other settings.

Just the display quit working properly for a little bit.Did it only do it that one time? If so, I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens repeatedly.

Also, from your manual:

In periods of low humidity, it is possible that a static electricity
discharge to the subwoofer may cause a momentary
interruption in the subwoofers output or changes to the LCD
display content. Any display content errors will be corrected
when the screen changes modes.

BTW, what do you think of it? Do you mind me asking how much you paid for it?

So far, so good. I haven't had much of a chance to do much testing yet. I think there will be a brake-in period where the cones will loosen up to give it's true performance. I paid $840.

I had my mains running off of a different receiver then the one I'm using now that sounded much better. The one I'm using now doesn't drive the main very good. When I get the Denon AVR 3808, the system will sound much better. It's hard to test the sub without the rest of the system running like it should.
