I just read the new Mitsubishi Projector is getting released in Japan on Sept/25/07. does it take months or years for it to get released in US & Canada. I was planning on buying a projector by Dec and was wondering if it's worth waiting for the new model or just buying the HC-5000.

General rule of thumb is one day to one year. Or several years. Or never. Btw, I want that one too.

Ive thought about just ordering directly form Japan , but was worried about all the features , menues , controller etc. being in japanese, and for my first projector i dont think that would be a good idea.

Most of the time the menus have various language settings, if you want I can go out and check. Just tell me model name, and who makes it. Sometimes you save a hundred bucks cause the dollar is stronger than the yen.

I wonder if this projector is comparable to the Cine4Home modified HC5000 - their mods improved the contrast quite a bit for the better, and this projector has boosted CR specs as well.
