I've spent a bit of time searching the forum tonight for an answer but maybe someone can answer the ? directly.

Is it better to adjust the picture controls, brightness, contrast etc on the scaler, or on the pj or both ????

Any suggestions greatly appreciated...

Sources > DVDO iScan HD+ > Moome HDMI IFB > Sony G70

I would try to get grey scale as best as you can on the PJ alone. Then calibrate each source to grey scale and save this for each memory if your scaler alows this also if your moome card has gamma adjustment add this in to your source you use the most. This is one reason i love my lumagen, it has multiple memorys for each seperate input so i can calibrate each input for more than one type of media.

I am not sure how the electronics work, and would like the experts to weigh in. For instance, too high on contrast shortens the life of the CRTs.

My setup is uses RGBHV from scaler to PJ.

Can one over do it using the scaler contrast for instance? In other words, does the scaler "take over" the controls on the PJ? I have a Spyder and want to adjust color temperature, white balance, contrast, etc., but not sure where to set the scaler in order to adjust the PJ settings. Should I set them to the 50% level? I'm sure there is a recommended method.

TIA,
Dave
