I have to say this is my first post in this forum. I have the VPL-VW50 and it is a great projector.

It has been calibrated by installer but he never made service menu adjustments or keystone adjustments as well. My question to all other pearl owners is that on my picture there is always 2" light that borders around the picture.

I have overscan off and I even zoomed out so that my picture was inside my 96" Dalite screen but the light border always remains.

Any help would be appreciated I have had this projector since December of 2006.

Thanks,

D

Many reviews about this projector make note of the light spill. It was there on the one I evaluated as well. Maybe not 2", but it was there.

It is a characteristic of the projector and not really an issue.

Some people claim they got them and there was zero light spill. But it seems pretty consistant that most experience it.

2" is rough I agree. Usually light spill hits the velt border around your screen and is not ever an issue. That's what it did in my theater and was not notice-able. I tend to overscan the image ever so slightly on to that border anyways when I setup PJ's.

So that would be my suggestion, find a way to black felt a border around your image. People that use CIH 2:40 screens complain about this more, so maybe it's not as easy to deal with in that situation?
