Hello,
I just got a Vidikron Image Two-A Projector. I can't seem to find any information on it though. If anyone could tell me the resolution on it or any thing about that would be great! I am new here and new to CRT projector, but I know alot about DLP and LCD, I am a member over at lumenlab as well.

Edit: Ooops, an image 2 is like an ECP 4500. Still a decent little machine but nowhere near a Marquee.

Like Curt said, what you have is an Electrohome Marquee 8500 projector and they are EXCELLENT machines. The first thing you need to do is learn how to set it up, then once you have that done get yourself a Moome HDMI input card, plug it into the back, and enjoy some amazing pic quality from your favorite HD player.

The Vidikron Image 2 is a Harmon.

The Marquee 8500 Ultra was the Vidikron Vision 2

Man you guys rock! I would have never figured that out! I have a video processor, it has component in and out and vga in and out. How could I hook up HDMI to it?

EDIT: So if its a harman than what are the specs like?

Sorry sorry, bad info. I keep seeing the '2' and automatically think MArquee.

No, that isn't a Marquee at all..:)

Little is out there on the Harman and non Marquee Vidikron stuff. I know the Harmans had lots of power supply issues. 7" Es focusing sets, a nice pix when running, I think they maxed out at 720p? I know some came with a line doubler as part of the package and had RGB inputs only.

I've only ever seen one, and I swapped it out with an NEC. The customer kept the Harman, it needed a power supply.

Hmm I was looking on your website and this looks the exact same as the VPF-40HD, VPF-50HD and all the other VPF's kind odd

it's HARMAN (kardon) not HARMON

8" EM Toshiba tubes EM (at least the DPM8 is)
NTSC & PAL interlaced/Progressive only (is said to be moddable for higher scanrates)
30Mhz bandwidth (?)
HD8 lenses

!!! TOTALLY FANLESS !!!

PM

inside should look like this

CRT's don't have a resolution. They will accept any signal within their rated bandwidth. For your 30Mghz spec. you should be at 1080i or lower.

Regarding the Harman video projectors: I have one and I bought it from the guy who took over that division when JBL and Harman got out of that bussiness. I think they are still around and do mostly audio amplifiers now.
Try calling them,

Speak to Mann. He knows everything about them and most likely built that projector. And Yes, they do have power supply issues but are easy enough
to fix. The quailty of the picture is very good. 1080i is about all you can get out of it though. I now have a Marquee so if you need a parts machine you should contact me.
