anyone know how to switch the Dish Network 811 HD receiver from RF to IR?

i am using a HTM mx-350 remote with the mrf-300 RF base station

There is nothing to switch. The 811 works in both modes at the same time. I currenty have mine hooked up via IR to my Tivo and my RF remote still works too.

so i can just hook up an IR eye to the front of the receiver and it should work?

i thought i read somewhere that i had to tell the rec to make it happen
