View Full Version : OT: Has Dave (Person99) Been Muted?
GEBrown 08-23-07, 06:01 PM Has anyone else noticed that Dave/Person99 hasn't been heard from in a while?
His last post was on Aug 03, but he last visited today?
Dave? Cat got your tongue?:)
JustGreg 08-23-07, 06:25 PM After reading some of the threads/posts/replies....I can't say as I blame him. It's either the same ole questions....or people duking it out. Not very stimulating that's for sure.
alan halvorson 08-23-07, 09:37 PM He hasn't posted on Curt's site either. I doubt if he's lost interest; he always seems most willing to answer just about anything. Maybe the digital people got him?
Curt Palme 08-23-07, 10:20 PM Opinionated Texans don't do digital. 'specially not Dave!
:D
Perhaps dave took his hatred of the HTPC a step further & now has disdain for the PC?
I can't imagine that he gave up & went digital.
oliverg 08-24-07, 11:29 AM When he saw BR was taking over, that was the straw.
He came back momentarily when he saw the latest studio going HD-DVD exclusive but ducked again when it became public knowledge they got bought ;)
JustGreg 08-24-07, 02:20 PM Dave's not here man. :p

The only thing that is public knowledge is speculation. Nothing more. Sure we can assume, but that doesn't make it so. Hell, if we're going to live by this logic, then we might just all assume Sony has "bought" everyone else under the sun.
An interesting thread. Entertaining if nothing else.

He'll be back...he's just regrouping!
Phil Smith 08-24-07, 06:43 PM Has anyone else noticed that Dave/Person99 hasn't been heard from in a while?

Dave? Cat got your tongue?:)I looked at Dave's profile. How can you tell when he last visited? I didn't see any mention of that.
I assumed he was on vacation, but maybe something is wrong. I e-mailed him earlier today and haven't heard from him yet. He usually replies promptly.
JustGreg 08-27-07, 12:20 PM Yeah I'm a tad concerned myself now. I miss his strong (yet usually correct) , and sometimes harsh, opinions.
Hey Matt (Ridebreck), you're close to him (relatively)...do you know where he's at? Did he win the lottery or something?:p
Hope all is well with him and his family.
Greg
Phil Smith 08-27-07, 01:07 PM I received an e-mail from Dave today. He was indeed on vacation for a week, but his absence is due to burnout on the forums. He decided he'd rather spend the time he kills on the forums with his family. We should all be so smart.
Curt Palme 08-27-07, 01:15 PM Life outside forums? What's that?
garyfritz 08-27-07, 02:30 PM Good for him, but a loss for us. He had some rough edges but his posts were valuable. Tell him he'll be missed.
Ridebreck 08-27-07, 02:32 PM Like Phil said, he's been taking a break, spending more time with family (and that huge dog), vacation, etc. This kind of stuff is cyclical, so he'll be back again at some point I'm sure.
oliverg 08-27-07, 03:50 PM Dave's the sort of guy who I agree with (completely) 90% of the time and disagree with completely 10%.
The gain to his family is a loss to the CRT world - but good on him!
:) He has my best wishes, that's for sure. Respect brother.
CaspianM 08-27-07, 05:45 PM He is going to come back with Person100.:)
