Ok, I've had the sub for several months now and was listening to music today and noticed something not right. After tinkering around for a little while I realized that the noise seems to be coming from the sub.. It makes a sort of buzzing/noise sound, a little bit like how a blown speaker sounds. Now, this thing hasn't gotten a work out at all since it's used in a bedroom setup, and this has been the first time I sat down and listened to music w/ it.

Any suggestions as to what it could be, perhaps besides a bad woofer? I changed the rca cable and I have an HK avr-235 receiver. The other speakers sound find, and noise sounds a bit like a bad woofer, based on previous experience. If anyone has any suggestions I'd very much appreciate it! I'd say it's only ~3-4 months old.

Meh.. perhaps I'm just being too anal.. It's there but I guess my ears are picky, and for the price I paid it's a solid sub..

Contact AV123. My understanding is that their customer service is superb.

I might do that just to see what they say.. I was tinkering with it and it seems to make the muddy/vibrating noise on higher bass notes especially. The receiver has a built-in crossover so it should still be a reasonably low freq. Btw, I know it's not my L/R channel because I put my speaker right next to the sub, and the noise goes away when I set the sub output to LFE only w/ the receiver.

I probably never noticed this watching movies because when the sub goes off ****'s just blowing up. lol Listening to a sublime cd you can really hear all the bass notes.
