Will SD-187 tubes replaces SD-130's.
I have an old Sony VHP-1020q and would like to crank it up a bit.
I can get 3 brand new tubes for 175$ ea., otherwise the picture on my Sony really is nice.

Yes those are straight swap, SD-187's are bit sharper and brighter.

For the $525 you would spend on new tubes, you could pick up a brighter machine with better resolution. If you keep your eye out, there are good deals to be had on ebay, craigslist, and videogon, especially if you can pick it up locally. Most people around here tend to advise those with video grade sets not to put money into them, and instead trade up. I concur!

I realize that I could get a better deal by picking up another projector, however this particular projector has a sentimental value to me, it gave me the wife and kids something that we all could do together and it is my first. I picked it up at a Garage sale for 20$. And the picture is crystal clear, my real concern is to keep it alive as long as possible.:)

I've got two NOS greens left, one red at $125 each, so I can save you $100..:)

Ive got a set that is wear free, and there is a complete 1020 with it. Even shipping it from netherland to the US isn't as much as 525 probably :)
