Why do I have to redo the convergance every time I turn my 8500 on?
What have I not done right?
Once it's converged if I change electronic focus it goes out of convergance also.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Chances are your channel setup is locked, unlock it in the utilities menu. If that's not it, then the battery on the CLM board is most likely bad.

Once it's converged if I change electronic focus it goes out of convergance also. That is normal if astigmatism isn't adjusted correctly.

Right. If your astig & CPC magnets are set properly, you can sweep the electronic focus from min to max and the pattern shouldn't move. If it moves when you change focus, you need to re-do the CPC mags & astig.

right, after you make sure that your re-call memeory is unlocked (Utilities menu- Source set-up) , also make sure ASR is off. ASR on can also screw up a recall memory.

Marquee's are the easiest CRT's to set up bar none. You just have to have a basic undertanding of how everything interacts and which order to do things. IF you like, PM your e-mail address to me and I'll send you a simplified word DOC. I wrote that covers the set-up pretty well.
