I would appreciate hearing from anyone with this problem or knows whats really going on with my TV. I have had the TV for a year and a half with no problems till now. In July the lamp blew and I had it replaced. Couple days later the Power indicator blinked red in 4 blink cycles and the TV would not turn on. The TV went into the shop. They said dust was clogging the fan and they cleaned it and replaced the fan(I think). Two days later after getting it back, it did the same thing again. Again they said a piece of dust was clogging the fan. Just got it back again today after a week in the shop where they supposedly kept testing it. Well, sure enough it, it was on & off a couple of times, then turned it on and the power indicator blinked red and the TV would not turn on. Let it sit for a couple minutes, tried again, TV turned on. Now I'm afraid to turn it off! The fans sound like their working, the TV is not getting hot, everything seems fine, but I dont trust it. Please, please, please does anyone know what could be causing this and what I can do? This has been going on since July 3 and I cant take it anymore. Thank you for your help!

well it sounds like you have an ex-warranty, right? if so keep having them look at it, and you may just get a new one.

I do not see where a "piece of dust" will stop the fan... to me that's BS

I can't get mine to turn back on immidiatly if I accadentaly shut it off.

Btw, 84jeepjohn, there are very few, if any, RP TVs that will come back on immediately after turning off. They have to go through a lamp cooldown cycle that takes a few minutes.

Thanks for replying guys. I didnt think its dust at this point. I do know that you have to wait awhile before turning the tv back on. To my limited knowledge, it sounds like a sensor or connection or something like that. Its supposedly going back to a reputable shop, and Im sure they are sick of me by now, but I cant imagine how they keep missing the real problem. I love my tv. its probably an easy fix that they just keep missing. but the hassle is making me nuts.

I have the four blinking lights. I reported that by phone and my EW provider (Sears) ordered 4 new fans (that's the total in the set) for delivery to my home and will be here next week to install them.

I hope that works for you. I'm basing my knowledge on the GWIII because that's what I've got :) and the issues the tech (sears) and I discussed.
