Hey guys&gals,

I'm currently connecting the tracking room to the control of my studio via snake cable and Neutrik DL series chassis mount XLR connectors. It will kind of be set up like tie lines in the respect that there will be plate mounted male connectors in the control room. I am not exactly sure what is going on but I'm getting some kind of ground loop that sounds more like a distorted buzz...more like what you would hear if you touch your hand to the tip of a live patch cable, and some RF interference. The strange this is that when I add phantom power the buzz dissapears, and the RF interference is no longer present at which point I am simply left with a little bit of white noise. Also when I run phantom power I get feed back if I crank the gain. This issue was not present when the phantom power is off. If anyone can tell me what is going on/what to try I would really apprciate it.

Sincerely,

CB
