I've tried a no name one and the 4 port rev 2.5 monoprice switcher - i get teh sparkles.

No issues direct, have tried more than one cable.

I need at least a 4 port HDMI switch - also have HD DVD and cable box on it...

Any advice?

I might try the 5 port rev 2.1 monoprice one...
