I haven't been using this pj that much since I have other pjs.
But I recently decided to try to bring it back to life by cleaning
the colorwheel. The results were amazing except for one thing.
Now it looks like there are white clouds plastered all over the screen.
This is really noticable on darker scenes. How did this happen? It wasn't
like this before I cleaned the colorwheel. BTW, I physically
removed the colorwheel from the X1 and thoroughly cleaned both sides
with rubbing alcholol. The colorwheel looks almost brand new. So what
could I have done to get these white cloud looking things all
over the screen?
On my other pjs I physically removed the colorwheels from them and cleaned in
like manner, with excellent results. Anyone know what's wrong or how to remove
these white cloud looking things? I can't figure out where they're originating
from. I never messed with or touched anything but the colorwheel.

Maybe you have some bad rubbing alcohol.

Agreed. Residue=clouds.

I think you have dust blobs. You might have created them while manipulating the projector. There is a good thread on how to remove dust blobs on the X1. Removing them takes about 20 minutes.

Hey, thanks. I believe you're right. I did a search and found the procedure to remove the blobs. Now just getting it done is another story.
I also saw some user pics of dust blobs, they looked identical to what I am seeing. These things are even
outside of the projected image like I saw in those user pics.
