I have my Pio PDP-5040HD connected to my Time Warner SA cable box via HDMI and all is good. The problem starts when I try to use Pause on the DVR feature of the cable box.
Seems like when I turn my TV off, it informs the cable box that it was just turned off, and the cable box responds by going off of Pause! It's almost like the cable box turns off and on quickly as well, or like someone re-typed in the channel numbers. This also ruins the possibility of backing up in time further than that moment.
Seems like somebody was thinking too hard about these features and thought it was a good idea to not be paused when the TV is off. Me, I think it's a good idea to not display a frozen image on a plasma for too long.
Problem didn't exist before I went HDMI.
Any thoughts?
