Scan this section using the Advanced Search for '9431' and 'Philips' threads. You might find the 9630/9631/9731 threads useful, too.

Keep your C & B below 50 for the first 100-200 hours.

Yes, and don't use any of the presets except PERSONAL.

Good luck ! ;)

ok cool thanks i appreciate it. Also I know on the Mitsubishi we have we can put a code in on the remote to see how many hours the lamp has on it. does this Philips plasma have anything like that??

On your remote, hit "062596+INFO" and you'll enter the Service Menu (DO NOT TOUCH ANY SETTINGS !!). Scroll forward, you'll see 2 Hours Of Operation figures, the higher one has 1/2 hour added for each ON/OFF cycle, the 2nd one (the lower one) is actual hours the set/PDP was on. :)

^^ Will that work for my 50pf9731d?

Also is the sequence:
press 0, press 6, press 2, press 5, press 9, press 6 and info at the same time?

No, one at a time....the numbers should show up on your TV; after the "6" (which might not show up) hit INFO and you'll be at the SM.
