Hi all.

I'm about 5 weeks from closing on my house and I was going to purchase a 52" LCD such as the XBR3 or Sharp 92U, however, after measuring my room it looks as though I'll be about 14 or 15 feet back for the viewing distance. With that in mind I need a bigger set and have been looking at new DLP units, specifically the Mitsu Diamond 65833. My main concern or question, is, can these sets hold up with respect to lighting and brightness? I remember DLPs a few years ago just couldnt' hang compared to flat panel TVs in the day time and were hard to see with well lit rooms. How do they fair now? Can you compare them to an LCD or Plasma with respect to brightness? Can they hold their own in the day time?

I appreciate your thoughts and advice.

Sincerely,

Mark

Get a Samsung LED DLP HL-T6189S...these DLPs are BRIGHT...and are fast (no motion blur like LCD...private message me and I'll tell you where to get a great deal on one.

How bright is the room? Unless you have direct sunlight through a huge window, DLP sets at a comparable price will give you a better image.

I've been told that the LED sets aren't quite as bright as the regular DLP sets, but I haven't examined them closely myself.

At that distance you should be able to handle a 70+" Panel.:)

LED dlp have nice pink shade to them...
However the XBR3 is a out of date model compared to the D92U...
Have you looked into the LNT5271F?
