I did search for this on the forums so apologies in advance if this has been discussed/documented elsewhere.

I've had an RS-1 for a few months now and am at about 100 hours on the bulb. This weekend, I went to watch a movie on my combo HD/Blu Ray DVD player and the RS-1 showed "no input signal" on the screen. I tried the DirecTV HD DVR (HR 20) and it, too, came up as "no input signal." The sound for both played just fine through my system, it was just the picture that isn't appearing.

I did all the usual stuff:

- unplugged the projector
- unplugged the receiver
- unplugged the HDMI connections at both ends
- switched HDMI ports at both ends

I am at a loss. Obviously, at this point, I am giving up on the chance to be able to watch anything over the next few weeks. My installer is coming over in the next day or so to take a look, but I suspect I'll be told that the projector has to go in for service. If anyone has any diagnostic advice, it would be greatly appreciated. (BTW - running a new HDMI cable is out of the question as this system is installed in a finished basement. The installer would have to fish a new cable through the walls for that to work).

Thanks in advance!

Cant you just unplug and reposition a source beside or close to the PJ and run a short cable. There should be no need to fish a cable. Is HD available via component?

Hope this helps

Thanks. HD is not available via component - just HDMI. However, now that you mention it, there are component cables running from the back of my receiver to the projector. However, I did try and switch the projector to that yesterday and it still showed "no input signal."

The next step is what you suggest, just get a short HDMI cable and plug in a new source to see if that is the issue. Thanks for your suggestions.

If it works then it would be you cable or reciever (assuming current sources are connected via a reciever, if not then you have a cable issue)

Its a pleasure to help. Anytime just shout.

Just an update. My installer came in today and ran a direct connection to the HDMI ports. He couldn't get HDMI 1 to work at all but did get HDMI 2 to work now and then. Long story short is that it is the RS1 that is malfunctioning and the projector is being sent to JVC for service. Right before a long weekend too!

I have no idea how long JVC will take to send it back, but I'm assuming a few weeks just to set my expectations low.

Did you get any results back yet?
