I have a Dec 2006 60" SXRD... after 5 months a green/yellow line and blob show up on the set... and stay, they dont go away once it warms up (although originally it did)
It is getting annoying now, and I wanted to know what I can do to fix it... I dont have a warrantee or anything, so how much would it cost to fix... if it can be fixed
And I searched the forums with no luck, although there are 100's of posts about the blob, I didnt see any say what they can do to fix it
Thanks
mod please move to the rptv forum.

has anyone had this happen to their front projection? this is one reason i have been hesitant about LCOS, not sure if its a proven time tested technology, might stick with LCD, also do the lcos projectors have sealed light paths like the DLPs?

i have a KDS-R70XBR2, purchased in November 2006. to my knowledge there have been no documented cases of the "green blob" that occurred with the XBR1, on my model. i am unaware of any green blob concerns with any SXRD front projectors, either in the past or currently.

LCOS is quite time tested. And LCD is not the route to go if you are worried about dust blobs. I'd wager they are more prevalent there than DLP or LCOS.
