Does anybody know how to a hard reset on this unit after 2000 hours of use? I tried a post several weeks ago and didn't get much help. I did read the manual, but this is not the same reset. I tried to use my unit beyond the 2000 hours and now it has locked up and will not power on. If you try to do this 4 times, then it locks and the projector will not power on. I finally received my new lamp and put it in, but it still won't turn on. Called Sharp and they tell me they don't have techinical support center that talks to consumers. Sharp referred me to two service centers - one is closed and the other could fix their microwaves. Sharp tells me that a service center needs to do this, but in light what I'm seeing with their service centers I thought I would try this forum.

Attached is the link to Z12K User Manual. Page 83 contained information for resetting the lamp.

...based upon Sharp XVZ9000U service manual for issues involving no power and the lamp assembly, you should first check to see if the lamp cover is closed completely and the screw fasteners are tight. If that doesn't help, the bimetal located on the metal housing that accepts the bulb assembly has a reset button, but that requires opening the housing and is not user accessible.
I had tried the instructions on page 83 several times and it didn't work, but I am not too proud to admit that I am a fool. You have to follow the EXACT sequence of buttons to get it to work. I was pressing the "on", "enter", "right arrow" and "left arrow" all at the same time. You actually need to hold the "enter", "right arrow" and "left arrow" first, then press the "on" button. It finally worked. Thanks for forcing me to try it one more time.
