I'm looking for a pretty cheap projector (720p would be nice) for gaming on my xbox 360. I play lots of FPS games so its response time needs to be extremely quick. I'm looking around $500 or so and have found an epson cinema 400 (new) for around this price. Does anyknow how how this option will fair or can someone else can suggest a pj? I'm willing to do some ebay shopping but prefer to buy something new with a warranty and hopefully a bulb warranty.

I currently have a NEC XG crt projector and it is superb for just about everything except taking places but it also is a little too dark for gaming. I was really considering this digital just to play games on (it will make a much brighter image) and will give me the ability to take over to friends houses and such.

Epson Moviemate 30S ($599- www.epson.com) is 480P but the sound is very good for an all in one unit (comes with HD input). Perfect for gaming and portability to take to friends homes etc....

Having just purchased a 400 I was searching and found the same 'deals' as the OP. Most of the sites don't have phone numbers and completely look like scams (like the "no bulb or remote included for the price" type of places).

The ACER PH530 for $600 is a steal.. 720p

Well, I am a little skeptical about getting it for 500 (the projector runs at about 900$ with the great rebate going on til the end of august), but if you can reliably get your hands on it at that price, it would be a great projector for your gaming needs.

I have one in my dorm room with my ps3 and I love playing ghost recon on this bad boy. It's got a lot of options and the thing throws out so much light, it's insane.
