Maybe my logic is a little off...but from what i've been reading about the extended warranties, here are my two best options.

A. Sony warranty = 5 years $289.
Get 1 extra year, no bulb coverage

B. Mack Warranty (tapeworks) = 4 years $210 (or, $285? Does it go w/ what you paid or the retail amount?)
One less year, but you get bulb coverage up to 2 replacements

The caveat with the bulb replacement, if I understand correctly, is 3 years starting the day you get the TV. So, after 3 years you have no bulb coverage but 1 year left on the TV.

Well, I know this can vary ALOT...but how often would you need to replace a bulb (like in the Sony A2020) within the first 3 years? My TV will probably be on, average 4-5 hours a day. Well, after three years thats only approx 5500 hours of use. Technically, I don't have to replace it for another 2500 hours, right? I've found new replacement bulbs online for $157 I think (by the way, anyone ever heard/dealt with bulb solutions?).

So, it just seems to me that I probably wouldn't be able to take advantage of the bulb replacement, so the better option would be the Sony warranty. But I know alot of people on here are satisfied with the Mack warranty. Plus, I guess I need to make my decision quickly because I think I have 30 days after purchase to get the Mack warranty.

Am I completely off? If I am, just let me know!

Well, my lamp had to be replaced a month ago to my suprise only after about 2600 hours. Mack reimbursed the cost without a problem. So, I am glad I had lamp replacement warranty... 8-)
