This is the convergence service screen for the blue gun on a Toshiba 50H81

It's most likely been caused by our 4 year old kicking the front of the set.
Has anyone else ever seen something like this and if so, know how to go about fixing it. Is it something that can be done DIY, or am I looking at a service call/replacement.
Thanks
Dave

Blue conv IC failure is likely. The kid's kickng could have loosened an already dodgy cold solder joint (just don't kick the kid back! much more expensive to fix ;)).
Conv IC replacement is mentioned/explained all over these threads. Does your set have a dedicated thread here. Search that, or any pertinent Tosh thread (or a general search here or via Google) to get the instructions/parts sources.
May want to get a tech on it, if you don't feel comfortable poking around the inside of your TV w/ a soldering pencil. Typical IC repairs can run $200-$400 for an in-home service call. Far less to buy part(s) and DIY, although DIY has it's own risks (financial and health-wise!)
You could also shoot an email to tech/calibrator Mr Bob (easy to find on these CRT RPTV threads). He does phone consults. More expensive than a strict DIY, but likely still cheaper than a full-on service call.
Good luck.
Thanks very much for the reply jwebb - now that you've narrowed down what I need to search for, I will search away. I hear what you are saying about the health issues, reading through the radiation and electrocution warnings in the service manual was fun.
Thanks for the help.
Well - after looking into the cost of either getting the tools/equipment for a DIY, which I'm probably not up for doing, or getting a service call in, I've decided to replace the Tosh 50H81 with a JVC HD56FH97. The FH97's can be found for great prices, and the picture looks great - a big upgrade over the aging Tosh.
So - is there anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area that's looking for a 50H81 for parts?

Shoot an email to Mr Bob. He's in you area and might be willing to either take it off your hands or find someone who will.
Thanks again for the helpful response jwebb!
