I took a quick look at the Amazon BD offerings, but gave up pretty quickly. As soon as I actually purchase any BD's, I effectively lock myself into getting a player, however, that doesn't make sense for me until BD profile 2.0 and the right price/performance -- so I'm basically stuck. Could probably have come up with three without too much trouble though! Still, I was able to come up with six HD DVD that made sense at $11 apiece :).

Between the Heroes set, and Wings of Honneamise and Freedom Vol 2 next month, all my HD-DVD spending money is spoken for through Halloween or so. Plus I just signed back up with netflix, so I'm trying to get my purchases down to a manageable level.

I've been waiting for a way to get Universal titles on sale for quite some time so I grabbed Shaun of the Dead and 12 Monkeys although the wife did make me get Phantom of the Opera for her.

If you can swing it, don't pass up Casablanca. The transfer is excellent. You will not be disappointed.

I almost went for four, but decided to reel back a little and go for 3. What a fantastic surprise for today, though.

LOL Yep, but to be fair of the 25 HD DVDs we have about 10 are for me, 5 are for the kids and 9 are neutral. This is the first one she's asked for that was just for her. The other HD DVDs she has requested have been liked by both of us (Underworld: Evolution, Lucky Number Slevin, Constantine, 300 and the aforementioned Shaun of the Dead was also her request) or films that her and the kids enjoy (Van Helsing). As you can see she has very "man friendly" tastes for a 34-year-old mother, but that's just one of the hundreds of reasons I married her. She's a really "low maintenance" (never asked for a manicure or spa visit in 14 years and loves football as much as I do) Phantom is the first film she has asked for that will be for her only. At least it has a TrueHD soundtrack so the HD DVD isn't totally without merit.

3 hd dvd and 6 blu-ray. don't worry, i'm an hd dvd-preferred member. they outnumber my blu-rays 3 to 1. never fear.

Three.......Pitch Black, Van Helsing, and Shaun of the Dead. Total cost: $43.90. I wish I had waited on my previous purchases to take better advantage of this sale. As it is, I was hard pressed to pick my third(SOTD). These 3 top me out at 69 HD DVD's with 4 preorders from Warner Home Video to come. Needless to say, I am looking forward to the Xmas releases to be announced.

While I have been waiting for a sale like this since I bought my player back in December, a little part of me wishes it hadn't happened. I just came back from a road trip to see The Dave Matthews Band for 2 nights and spent over $500. I was happy to get back home because I KNEW that I would not be spending any more money once I got home. Instead I spend ~$90 on 6 HD DVDs. You can't beat an average price of $15.

I'm ultra-bummed that the A2 + 3 movies + 5 free for $210 deal came up though, because it was only a week ago that I bought my A2 from CC for $270 with only the 5 free movies (and in haste, sent the original receipt in too) :( It IS pretty exciting to see the A2 and HD DVD titles doing so well though (heck, even the Blu-rays are up there in terms of sales rank, which at least gives a glimmer of hope that HDM isn't destined to be a niche format after all)

Only got 3, but if it's still a valid sale come Friday I am grabbing at least 3 more, maybe 6, and the Ultimate Matrix box.

The trick is buy one available and one pre-order title. They almost always ship seperate for regular customers ( I suppose ) I alsways leave the options as few as possible shipments and tag one as a gift. They always get past customs as each is under the limit.

Three. I would have bought more, but out of the valid list of titles I already purchased nearly all the titles that I wanted (and there were many). I'll definitely be back if they add August titles! ...although they better hurry, because I've already purchased a few of those too! ;)

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing that "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" ad. :( I've put 3 into my cart, and was right at the Authorize Purchase screen and still didn't see the discount. I'm trying to get "300", "Hot Fuzz" and "Black Snake Moan", and these 3 are showing as in stock. :confused:
