Been using the internal speaker for the last couple month on my sammy because I'm getting a new HT audio setup and moved the TV into a new entertainment center a couple months ago. Turned the TV on tonight and it sounds like all the people speaking have a Sylvester The Cat style speech impediment (heavy scratchy lisp). I thought at first it was just my dish dvr (HDMI1) acting up so i switched over to my PS3 (HDMI2) instead and played some music, same thing. I double checked the equalizer settings and they haven't been touched (even switched between a few different settings with the same result). Power cycle shows no improvement.

Anyone else experience anything like this with their sammy DLP set? Is there more than one type of speaker in this set? (tweeter, etc). It definitely sounds like the high end is the source of the rasping.

I still have a couple months left on the manuf. warranty plus another 2 or 3 yrs on an extended warranty. Just wanna have an idea of what might have happened before I contact them.

Ended up speaking with a manuf. warranty service person (scheduled one online) and he suggested that I unplug the unit for a few minutes and plug it back in. This fixed the problem. Something on its way out? I'm going to keep the appointment until I talk to them again.
