I have a Harmon Kardon AVR 347 on an open stand less than a foot away from my recently purchased 50" panasonic plasma. Since I have gotten the new tv I have started having problems with the IR receiver on my AVR. Anybody seen this happen before?

This is a known issue. You may have to reposition your AVR. Otherwise, perhaps an IR extender might work (since you could position the receiver eye in a plasma friendly area and position a transmitter directly over the IR sensor of the h/k). There is an explanation here (the product can be purchased for $80 max on amazon.com):

I am not sure if placing the transmitter over the IR sensor would eliminate the problem of the constant IR emissions coming from the plasma affecting the h/k though, so you might want to research this before you spend your money and go down that road. Basically, you need to shield the h/k sensor from the emissions ... placing an emitter on top of it might do the trick (perhaps someone has tried this successfully and could comment).
I move the receiver a little further away, as thats all I could easily for now and it got much better. Thanks
