Hello all. I am purchasing my first HD TV. After studying up over the last 3 months or so, I have decide to go with the new Sony KDS60A3000. Now I'm trying to determine the best route for picture quality particularly with my massive DVD collection. I am seriously considering the Oppo HD980 or HD981 (a little pricier but arguebly a better upconversion via the Farudja HD algo).

Also I was looking at receivers. Both the Sony DG810 or 910 have HDMI switiching and all the power I will need in my medium to small living room. But I am also considering the much pricier DG1100. The marketing hype on it is that is has the Farudja algo as the Oppo HD981 and will convert all sources using that algo to 1080P. Other than the Oppo, I plan to get one of the DirTV HD/DVR boxes. Would the Sony convert its signals up to 1080P as well? Aside from the upconvert, it also passes video with 120hz refresh (A3000 native refresh rate), but I don't think the lower ones do. Would it be worth it to get the high end Sony? Would the Farudja upconversion really make a difference on a dlp?
