I have put in some "conduit" in my riser to allow for easier replacement of rope lights after the plywood gets permently installed. I used some 3/4" copper tubing w/ some street elbows. I went with the copper since the wall thickness is less and would have less of a "lip" on the corner connections. I was originally thinking of using the std 1/2" rope light, but in hindsight I think it will be a little tight. I think the ID of the copper pipe is 0.66". Are there any drawbacks of using 3/8" rope light. It looks like it is the same wattage as the 1/2" and would allow for a smaller lip on the overhanging plywood. Any thoughts or concerns?
