Hi,
I am interested in building an outdoor LCD enclosure to house a medium size LCD (26 - 40") TV. My inspiration is http://www.luxoutdoor.com/arriswmwf.html
and/or
http://www.luxoutdoor.com/arriscf.html

Any ideas on to do this a bit cheaper?
The LUX entertainment solutions are $3500 & up for 26".

I could use either freestanding or wall-mounted. I would like to use this with my roof-top deck that has a hot tub. My main concern is weather protection.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, we used a company who manufacture outdoor LCD enclosures (http://www.pcenclosures-direct.com/LCD_Plasma_Screen_Enclosures.html), called Computer Security & Solutions.

The solution they offered was cheaper than the $3500 you mentioned, as we needed to put the LCD display near a hot tub, used for digital advertising. The problem was the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. Their solution was to have an internal cooling system that once set at the required internal temperature, it didn't matter if the outside temperature rose or fell, the cooling would activate if it needed to cool or heat the enclosure.

Good luck with your project.:)

A company named Pantel makes ultra-bright all-weather LCDs.
They aren't cheap but...
