the vga port is what you want to use. the cable will have to be a male on both ends.

There is no VGA port on the IN72. Sadly, Infocus uses a proprietary port to accept VGA or DVI inputs called a M1-A.

You need this adapter to connect a standard DVI cable to the IN72: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041905&p_id=2675&seq=1&format=2&style= Just plug this into the M1-A port and then plug you DVI cable into the adapter.

*OR*

Use this VGA to M1-A cable. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10238&cs_id=1023804&p_id=3036&style=&seq=1&format=1#largeimage
This is even easier (but not a pure digital connection like DVI). Plug one end into you VGA out on your laptop/desktop and the other end right into the M1-A port. PLUS! The USB connector will let you upgrade the IN72's firmware too!

Your choice. I have the DVI adapter for the best possible picture (and my firmware is already up-to-date).
PM me if you need the exact video card settings needed to get a perfect 856x480 1:1 pixel mapped image.

Good luck.
