I received my first replacement bulb for the HD70 which was supplied as per the $99 Bulb Warranty I purchased when I bought the unit from projectorpeople.com

The repairmaster warranty was fulfilled by a company out of Georgia named Vance Baldwin Electronics. The bulb part# is BL-FP200C.

Although I have yet to install the bulb & test it, it is wrapped pretty well (see photos below)

My Projector has 2300 Hours on it in and although it I am getting the impending lamp failure warning, the current lamp is still running and decently bright at this point.

The entire fulfillment process from initial call to delivery was approx. 3.5 weeks.

Hope this bit of information is of use to someone.

You were able to receive a replacement bulb when your existing bulb wasn't broken? Do they expect you to send them the original or provide proof?

I didn't realize these companies would provide a replacement bulb at the end of your current working bulb's rated life. If this is correct and within their terms, that is a very good deal.

How did they know that you weren't scamming them? Did they require some proof?

I cannot speak for what's within their terms but I started receiving the impending lamp failure message. Not knowing how long the fulfillment process would be, I wasnt going to sit around and wait until it blew out before I atleast called my vendor.

I called the vendor, explained my issue and I was told I had the right to exercise my warranty. I also made it VERY clear to the warranty company that my lamp was NOT yet blown out. There is some dimming from age & use but it still working.

Once I confirmed my hourly usage amount, the exact text of the lamp warning and went through a few basic troubleshooting steps with the warranty company, the process was done.

On a related note, when I initially purchased the repairmaster warranty with my projector, I was told that this warranty was a no questions asked kinda thing. I was also told by my salesman at Projectorpeople that the warranty company did not require you to send in the old lamp. I was skeptical of this but it turned out to be true.

I also have used thier service. Same experrience. Called to report lamp problem (aging, dimmiing) no questions asked other than account info. New replacement lamb shipped and receieved within 7 days of the call. This warrenty is a no-brainer but must be bought at the same time as the PJ. Terms are simple, 2 replacements within a 3-year period. No shipping the old lamp back, no need to provide proof that your existing lamp was dead or dying.
