Anyone else having trouble figuring out how to get to the online content using an Xbox 360? I popped in disc 1, nothing in the menu, disc 7 as it has the "bonus content", nothing in the menu ... disc 5 since it's the only other one with anything 'special', nothing in the menu ... then I poked around the Xbox HD-DVD software menus to see if there was something in there (aside from network settings which are correct) and couldn't find anything there either ... :-s

Could someone please tell me how to access the online content using a 360? Or if it's even possible?

Nice, thanks ... you think they'd mention that where they list the per-disc extras on the packaging like "deleted scenes" and "video commentary" and what not ...

I'm wondering if that is why disc 2 took so long to "load" for me when I put it in. It had an actual loading screen the first time, I thought it locked up and reset my 360, second time now I just let it go and now it's up.

Having problems getting the online content to work with my 360 addon.

It took a couple of tries, but I got past the Loading screen on disc 2 after a while (see below). As soon as I click on Web Enabled Features -> Download Center or Genetic Abilities Test the screen goes blank and that's it. I waited about 20 minutes each time and am going on four tries. :(

I cleared the Xbox HD DVD drive's memory contents using the system blade but it hasn't helped. I can watch the episodes on disc 2. i have the latest xbox updates (i wasn't prompted for any new ones, either). I'm connected to Xbox Live with the original Xbox Wireless Bridge. I can connect to Xbox Live just fine so I don't think it's my internet connection.

Here's the list of events thus far:

Put disc 2 and the loading screen appeared. There wasn't any Universal intro it just went to the Loading screen.
Got an error NET0112 after a while and it asked me if I wanted to try again. I clicked yes to retry. I got the error message and retried two more times.
Put disc 1 in to see if it would play. it played just fine.
Put disc 2 back, got the error, retried again, and finally I got the Universal Studio intro.
Went to Web -> Download Cener. After a while i got the login screen. i already signed up at http://www.universalhighdef.com, but i accidently clicked on new account. on the new account page i clicked on cancel and the screen went blank. it was sitting there blank for a while (10 minutes) so I exited to the dashboard.
Played disc 2 again. Universal intro came up, clicked on Download Center, and i have a blank screen.
Went to dashboard and cleared out the HD DVD drive memory content but it didn't help. After clearing memory I still get the loading screen, then Universal intro, and blank screen after clicking on Download Center.
I've rebooted the Xbox a couple of times, too, but that didn't help either.

Has anyone else run into this and figured out a workaround?

Is there a way to reset the addon firmware so I can have it download again? It's a stab in the dark, but I'm hoping that'll reset what is wrong so i can get back to the login screen again.

clear the cache of the xbox. it will erase all of the updates you've ever gotten (with the exception of the major spring/fall ones) so you'll have to redownload them again, game updates and what not.

to do that you do the following:

Go to the system blade and then select memory.

Press Y on the Hard Drive symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a message will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

and then select yes.

that should erase the software updates.

in any case, if it still doesn't work after that...it could just be something that microsoft needs to implement in the next update coming for the add-on. i can't say for certain, as i don't own the heroes box set. i just figured i'd help you take your stab in the dark.

Clearing the cache per your instructions did it! Thanks for your help. :) :) :)

I figured it out. The username field on the login screen is a drop down. You don't type. It uses a list of previously registered usernames. You have to go through the New Account screen the first time, enter your info, and click the Next button for it to retrieve the existing account.

Downloading trailers now ... :)

ahhhhh...ok thank you! I knew it was drop down...but I had registered on the website earlier...

Yeah, kind of non-intuitive, but you have to enter your info from the website registration again on the new account screen to retrieve it.

Hmmmm... I can't access the network enabled stuff either.

??? Why would a cache clearout fix that?

I guess I will have to try it though. I just wish I didn't have to, because it's quite a annoyance to download everything again.

Is there ANY way of doing this without erasing the cache?

Hmmm... Locked up. After reboot I couldn't access the disc at all.

So I did a cache clearout and I can now access the disc, but I still cannot access the web content. Lame.

Heroes is running like crap on mine. Bought it last Sunday and didn't really get a chance to sit down with it, but skipping like crazy after really long pauses on disc 1, ch1. I was able to skip once to ch2 and it seemed to be going fine. Went back to Ch1 and skip city again. Trying to hit next chapter on my remote made the Info numbers kinda superimpose on each other.

Xbox button works, though, and I can skip to dashboard. Restart disc, same effect. Eject disc and it looks clean without smudges or scratches. Put back in, same effects. Restarted the 360.

Go back to Dashboard, change to 720p and it appeared better (was able to get past the episode title this time) but then skip city again. Turned off first the network from in the HDDVD menu and then signed off XBL but same thing.

Tried to select the 2nd chapter and it froze entirely with nothing happening. Is this just me? I'm about to try the 2nd disc and see if this everything or just my first disc.

2nd disc seems to be fine. Maybe something with the 1st....?

Ok turns out it was a small slight smudge on the 1st disc. Barely noticible on teh far edge. Gave it a wipe down with an extra microfiber cloth I got with my Oakleys and was able to watch the first two episodes. Good stuff. :D

I was able to do the personality thing. Forgot my code, though. Online content didn't work though (said I needed to connect ethernet on my player or some wackiness) - and I was already resigned into XBL and reenabled HDDVD network check box. Not dumping cache or anything, so whatever.

I can't access the web content on disc 2. I get the message to connect the player to the Internet, but it is connected.

I think it may have something to do with my router, since I have problems to play online with some games. I have another router that works, but it's at my parents house, so I can't test it in two weeks. Hope that router will work with the Heroes disc.

Hit the 'B' button on the controller (or... something on the remote, forget which button, whichever brings up the playback options, not the HDi menu the xbox's menu)

go over to the network settings or whatever it is option, like 2nd or 3rd from the right side I think? and make sure you told the xbox to allow internet access.

otherwise, it's not going to allow it to connect :)

Thanks, BioSehnsucht, I didn't know about the B-button menu. You're right, press the B-button on the controller, then selecet Advanced and then HD DVD network setting.

The settings was OK. But I tried to connect the 360 directly from the DSL modem (without going through the router), and it worked fine. So the router I use now does not work well with the 360, have to change it with my old one (which at the moment are at my parents).

I was having problems connecting last night also. It's worked in the past and last night my player was able to access the net (tried to do a firmware update and experienced no issues). So I'm wondering if maybe the servers were down for Heroes.

ok i've read all the posts here and i got something totally different than everyone else:
Setup: HTPC Vista Home Ultimate with xbox add-on, Power DVD Ultra
disk one: no problem
disk 2: Security Alert Window basically says a secure connection is required and asks me "do you wish to proceed?" yes, no, view certificate, more.
yes=goes back to black screen
no=pop comes up 3x then black screen
View Cert=another popup with options to view certificate and install it (none work to solve the problem)
deluxedigitalstudios.com="CA Root is not a trusted...because it is not in the Trusted Root Certificate Authority roster"
Disk 3: black screen
Disk 4: Plays with no problem.
please help!
