I got this one from Mount Direct:

I was very impressed with its design and ease of installation.

Thanks for pointing that out, it looks pretty good! Low-profile, too. Anybody here try it with an HD1000U or HC1500 (same mounting pattern on those two, right)?

I second the Mount Direct one. I just got one (actually their Wall mount version, which adds an elbow). Works really good for a universal mount, especially for the price.

Just a couple things to keep in mind when putting this thing together though:
* It's from China
* They painted the parts **after** they tapped the screw holes
* Make sure to put the bolts in straight or you WILL cross-thread the tapped holes
* It's from China
* Once you have the ball socket put together, move it around a bit to loosen it up and help shave some of the paint off the ball socket to ease minute adjustments later.
* Keep the extension arms as short as possible and keep the entire assembled mount as much as you can in the center of the PJ. This helps ease of final minute adjustments to the mount once you get it up.
* It's from China

-- Also, because it's a universal mount, it should work on ANY projector.

Thanks for the tips! So it sounds like the folks who manufacture this thing aren't big fans of masking before paint/powdercoat, eh? :) In spite of that, it looks like a good value.
Now, to pick a color. White to (try and) match the ceiling, silver to (sort of) blend with the PJ, or black... decisions, decisions.

well, I was looking for a mount and jsut pulled the trigger on this one. The quick release sold me. My pj is located in the garage and needs to be able to be taken up and down easily. thanks for the reference!

oh ....and I went with black :)

It is somewhat of a universal kind of mount in that it is not a perfect, precut fit but instead there are slots in the piece that is hooked to the bottom of the HD70 with three screws.

And yes, these mounts are all for mounting your HD70 upside down. Set in the menu the mode that inverts the image.

I purchased the one listed in the second post. Pretty solid mount, the black paint is very thin though..need to do some touchups but good quality and easy to put together:)

I bought the one off of ebay from kramerica unlimited. It is a ball joint so is very flexible and mounted easily and was low profile. It was pretty inexpensive also.

I ended up going with this mount in black, too. Works great, and I was (pleasantly) surprised at the quality of the powdercoat finish.
