I just purchased an new twin home and I will be making the basement living room into a home theater room. I'm new to this whole thing and I was looking for help on the setup or any suggetions you guys have. I have attached a drawing of the floor plan to this and added in the setup I'm currently thinking of doing. The system will be ran off a HK AVR347. I have only choosen Athena speakers because a Sales Rep at Best Buy advised me they would be the best bang for my money. Im open to any suggetions on setup or equipment

Since you are living in a multi family unit, one suggestion is that before you invest a lot of money you do a "sound check"

Borrow someones Sub-woofer and put where you are thinking of putting it. Hook up a DVD with a lot of LFE and let it crank.

Then talk to your neighbors and see if it bothered them.

You might discover that I the first dollar you spend is on some soundproofing

There have been plenty of reports here about great theaters gone bad because the neighbor kept calling the cops.
