You know, I'm dual format as well... but that is one scary place. It really is frightening to go there and read how blindly devoted people can be. If someone posted that HD DVD killed his mother, there'd be an angry pitchfork mob ready to kill in seconds... I've visited a few times and have no plan on going back.

No, it belongs in this forum because many of us have been listed on their forum on that rediculous list.

And for those that are format neutral, now that you see that list, now you might understand why my signature says what it says. No one should have much doubt about the format I support. It's not exactly a big secret. But the difference between them and me (and many of us here) is that we don't have to make a list of Blu-ray "zealots". We don't go into the Blu-ray forums to troll (I don't go into the AVS Blu-ray forums AT ALL), and we don't just start 3 threads a day in the general section with crap that eventually has to be deleted because it's obviously fanboy.

Truth is for me, I could not care any less if Blu-ray lived or died. It's not that important to me. Both formats could live side-by-side just like video game systems. That is NOT going to stop me from enjoying movies on HD DVD. Hell, I want ALL studios to be neutral (which will never happen it seems). But I don't need Blu-ray to die for me to enjoy what I am enjoying right now.

One would think that any staunch supporter would want to see the truth and be intellectually honest, as opposed to clinging to mythology and false information in order to justify their support. That support is typically revolving around the fact that certain folks have invested in one format, and currently have the means to only support one. As a high-def supporter (format neutral), it makes sense for both sides to see the good and bad of their chosen camps to aid in the education of the formats and see reality. Challenging false concepts is good for self-examination.

Here is my favorite post from over there by their "insider" Penton Man that I will remember EVERY time I see this guy post, read it and don't forget it:

It's very disturbing to most level headed people.

Should the people be afraid they are going to get whacked? Should they be afraid of strange phone calls?

In keeping with the "take the high road" philosophy, we should not add fuel to the fire, so I am closing this thread
