I might be buying Heroes, and I want to know if there is a auto resume feature?

HD DVD does not have an auto-resume feature. You must create a bookmark and go back to that bookmark the next time you want to watch.

Niether does BluRay when their discs equal the HD Dvd version features. Vacancy for example. It's got advanced menus, etc like hd dvd and won't reload. Same with the Pirates movies if I remember correctly. It's not a player issue, it's a disc issue. If you want the fancy animated menus, etc it seems the option to resume the movie is not possible. Personally, I just want the best PQ and SQ and wouldn't mind the resume function being included on all discs. But you know the studios. They think we all want interactivity, etc etc. WRONG...

I don't get why the resume feature is so popular. I never used it with DVD, and I don't know of anyone else that uses it.

Same here. I guess I want it so I won't hear complaints about it anymore lol People are used to having it with dvd so it's no surprise but I never use it and either pause or stop the film for the most part. If I come back to a movie the next day I just remember the chapter # to reach my previous spot.
