Hi,

It appears (very sadly I am afraid) that I will be forced to go with cable instead of my current DirecTV since I don't have line of sight to the new HD satellite where I moved to (according to three installers) And FIOS is a year away....

Can someone tell me the biggest HD-DVR Comcast has? I am in Union County NJ and of the three sales people I have talked to at three separate times, no one can tell me make or model numbers of the HD-DVRs they are offering.

I was able to ascertain there are two current models, one from Moto. I couldn't get the size, whether they have HDMI outputs, etc. The Comcast website offers NO specs for anything.

Anyone who can point me to a phone number to call, or link to the current offerings would be great.

Thanks

The odds are, with the Motorola, it will be a DCH 3416 and it has a 160 gig HD. It has an HDMI output.

You can download the users manuals at Motorola's website. When I got my DCH 3416 a couple of months ago, the installer didn't have any so that's where I got mine.

So Comcast is only offering the Motorola as a HD DVR. There are no other options until the Panasonic box in 08, or the Tivo box whenever.

I was hoping they had something bigger than the 160gig Moto box....

Comcast customers in New England will be first to get the Tivo software option for their Motorola DVRs. It's expected to cost an extra $2.50 - $4.00 /mo.

Unfortunately, you're still stuck with 160Gb unless you buy your own $250-$299 TivoHD.
