My old thread has been archived here:

I will resurrect here what is necessary for good continuity.
Probably will make some additional minor changes to reflect some changes from mech room rebuild.

Decided to go with Klipsch THX Ultra 2 5.x setup.
Other decisions for my sound system are:
NAD T175 pre pro
Sunfire TGA-7200
Currently undecided on subwoofer. Would like to get others thoughts on a Danley DTS20, one or two Seaton Submersives, or some other nice solution.
Room is over 4000 cubic feet if the stair landing is included.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on heavy duty articulating speaker mounts?
It would be for a Klipsch TXH Ultra 2 rear speaker (KL-525)

billd25 12-12-07, 02:30 PM i'm an Eagles fan, and wanted to see the picks, too.
My wife and I picked colors quickly for my basement at Home Depot, and after I painted, my brother told me it looks like a Washigton Redskins basement. I may have to repaint.
The problem I had was one big long wall had no separator, so the HT color had to extend to the next room. (click on sig for pics)

Sorry about the loss of pictures gentlemen and Patriot's fans. What a real mess up Comcast has accomplished with the switchover to their "new and improved" web facilites. I've temporarily created a MySpace account to hold the pictures.
billd25,
Eagles midnight green with the slate trim is near black with the lights down. FWIW, Glidden carries an official team color line of paints.
I have a much smaller quandry. I would like to get a themed door mat. I could chicken out and go with a generic football door mat. It strikes me as sort of wrong to wipe my feet on an Eagles door mat. If I got a Dallas or Giants door mat which seems much more palatable to wipe my feet on - a fellow Eagles fan may not comprehend though and throw something at me or otherwise curse me...
:p
To get an idea on how 5255s might look as rears...

Pretty much down to ordering a rack, cables, and deciding on subwoofer(s) at this point.
At this point, I am pretty much set on a Middle Atlantic AXS rack.
I don't have any documentation yet for it. How do you guys load up your racks? Do you keep your amps close to your pre-pro to keep the wiring nice and tight or do you have your amp at the very bottom because MA instructs you to keep the heaviest components at the rack bottom for stability?
Knowing the answer to this question now helps me with what lengths of cabling to order....
Keep the amps toward the bottom and make sure to leave some space above/between for good cooling.
Bryan
For those of you in the market for a Middle Atlantic rack, their RackTools 3.0 software is really very helpful in planning layout/order.
I've attached some images of my rack as I have planned it so far.
Missing some miscellaneous items such as lacing bars and rack screws but this will be very close to my initial order. Blanks and finish trim can come later after I have everything emplaced with this initial order.
What are the current favorite recommendation(s) for pneumatic staplers?
I should get up some new pics of my columnar frames. The frames for the rear of the room were built to be movable so I can staple the fabric from the inside of the frame thereby completely hiding all staples.
The framing is 1/2 inch thick pine.
