I have 3 KDL-52XBR2. Different size monitors but same basic thing. I hooked up a coax line and recieve 161 hd channels. Some are in 1080i some are in 720p and now I want to watch that in my home theater. I have a jvc-rs1 1080p projector. But displays arent why im here ( or else this thread would be moved). What kind of box can I buy to tune into the channels on my projector. I want to watch hd programming from the coax line I get in my home theater but there is no coax inputs on any of my components. If I buy a hd cable box can I plug in the line or is it a lot harder (like i need to program it or something)?
Ex. I buy a motorola dct6200 plug in my coax line and do a channel search?
EDIT: I did some reading and basically this is the situation im in, http://www.slate.com/id/2167389/pagenum/2 , Im thinking of getting a QAM tuner to watch these channels. Those tv's have QAM tuners which unables me to get those hd channels. Any things im missing?

please clarify the statement "I hooked up a coax cable"....I assume you mean you have HD service from a local cable TV company ? Cable TV reception does require a QAM tuner, BUT, with the number of channels you mention - many, if not all, will be encrypted by the cable company as part of their subscription service.
It this is the case....you will need to get the correct set top box from the cable company to receive and decode the HD content and supply it to your projector - either by component cables or by HDMI.

I dont have hd service. Only high speed internet from comcast. Get unencrypted qam channel. Right now im watching discovery hd theater on my sony tv. Im thinking of getting the samsung terristerial tv tuner mentioned in the article linked above. My signal level is 32db which is amazing according to the tech who installed it. I live on the road in a new home so get jacked straight into the line.

Whoa whoa whoa!? You get discovery hd theater for free!? Please tell us which cable box you are using
It sounds to me as if he is getting SD in stretchovision. He may be confusing Discovery HD Theater with Discovery. If we take what he posts at face value, he is lightyears ahead of the curve.

This is very likely a mistake that will be rectified in the future, to his disappointment.:(

But even if the cableco stops clear qam casting wont I still recieve analog channels. Btw. Heres my setup. One comcast line into house apparently for high speed internet. Split 2 ways. Once into modem one into 8 way splitter. Splitter splits to 4 tvs so far. All four have qam tuners according to a quick google search. After doing a digital channel search I recieve discovery hd theater on channel 84.2. According to the info menu its on qam256 on a very high frequency, 5600000 mhz or something.

Understand though, that if you are only paying for internet access then you are stealing cable service.:( There will usually be a few clear qam channels available by default, such as the DT(HD) network locals and your neighbor's VOD. Most others are encrypted on most cablecos.
