I ordered Hellboy from amazon.com on the Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer. I would like to know if this title is worth multiple replays. I hope that I haven't made any terrible mistake. Please advice.:confused:

I rented this one, but I wouldn't mind owning it. It's a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously (think Men in Black and The Mummy, and you'll get the general idea). PQ is great: HiDef Digest gave it 4.5 stars, and I would agree. It's also a real showcase for a good audio system: great surround sound actions, nice movement across speakers, and a real workout for your sub.

You're not stuck with it if you don't like it. If you only like it enough to watch it once you can sell it on ebay after you watch it. At the price you paid, you won't lose anything.

worth having in your collection. i have it in mine.

I rented it from bb and really liked it. So i am going to buy it from Fry's for $13.50.

Hellboy rocks buddy, watched it 3 times in the first week I had it,. Hellboy 2 in 2008.;)

thought the movie was very good and the PQ is awesome...it's probably in my opinion in the top 20% of blu-rays out right now.

watched it a couple of times on TNT before deciding to get it on bluray. Good movie to pop in every couple of months

The rewatchability factor on this title is definitely high. Excellent movie and transfer. I can't wait for the second one to come out.

High replay value....IMHO anyways. :)

I love DelToro's movies.

IMO, he did a better job with Hellboy than Raimi did with SpiderMan. If you like comic movies, this is one of the best.

Daredevil Director's cut was fantastic IMHO.

I also just picked up Hellboy from the Fry's 2 for 27 deal. I plan to sell my SD version now. Hellboy might not be on the same level as Spidey 2 but it's still a very good comic book movie as others have said here and when Hellboy 2 comes out, you could be glad you have it in your collection

'Hellboy' is a lot of fun. LGans316, if you don't like it, I'm sure someone here will buy it off you.

I'll be the lone voice of dissent here and say I didn't really like it, and don't really see it holding up for multiple watchings. The visual/audio quality is definitely there, but everything else is just lacking.

That was one of the few titles I purchased on the amazon deal. I've watched the DVD (which I got for a $1 at the flea market) at least half a dozen times and rented it twice on BD. Great picture. Awesome PCM track. Totally worth it. You won't be disappointed.

This title is fantastic. I originally saw it in the theater and liked it enough to buy it.

After watching it on Blu-ray, I felt like I was watching it for the first time all over again. It was WAY better on my home equipment than I remember it being what I saw it in the theater.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The quality of the disc is great and the movie is a hell of a good time...although this is coming from a guy who saw it twice in theatres, owned the first dvd release, the director's cut dvd and then bought the BD...so Hellboy has made some bank courtesy of me.

One of the best PQ movies out right now. Hellboy jumps off the screen. The audio is up there as well. Fun movie to have in the collection for when you jsut want some popcorn fun like The Fifth Element.

Great PQ and if you liked the comics you'll love this movie. Otherwise, I think its mostly a mediocre movie. Not bad watching the first time through but not very appealing second time through. They are making a sequel though, I think Universal is releasing it though.

I have the DVD and it's one of a handful of movies that I've re-bought in BD (hasn't gotten here yet, but it's on the way thanks to Amazon's 3 for price of 2 sale).

Thanks a ton for your comments. Btw I love many movies like Pearl Harbor, FF-4, FF-4 Silver Surfer etc that America hates. I hope that Hellboy would be good. The best comic movies according to me are Batman Begins, V for Vendetta and Spiderman 2.

If you are a fan of the comic, or comics in general, this title may work for you. If not... I have to declare "drek" on this release. I really thought I'd dig this film, but Lord I did not. My son did like it... but he was 11 at the time. Your mileage may vary...

I thought the movie was very good and it was only improved by the wonderful PQ/AQ.

Finally watched Hellboy. Everything was superb except for the climax scene which was finished in a cheap manner. Was extremely disappointed and will soon put it on SALE.

I'm a big Hellboy fan, even have most of the comics. I think this is a triple dip for me (Theatrical DVD, Directors Cut DVD, and now BD). I think it holds up well to repeat viewings because there is so much lore in the background, it takes a few viewings to catch everything. Plus Ron Pearlman is always fun to watch. How he can go from top tier Hellboy to bottom tier sci-fi channel saturday night movies is beyond me. I guess the guy just loves to work.

On a side note, and not to start a fight, but I think Hellboy 2 is being produced by Universal, so it will be HD-DVD only. I'm dual format but my OCD is already kicking in for series where I'll cross red-blue lines (got Underworld:Evolution on HD-DVD, now unsure which version of Underworld to get, pathetic, I know!).
