hi all, i've been trying to figure out what to do for a long time and just can't come up with a good solution.

right now i have two comcast HD cable boxes with built-in DVR and dual tuners (model DCT3412 1).

i also have a 42" samsung HDTV

and a small 19" LCD in the kitchen

what i want is:

watch a cable channel in HD on the 42"
watch a different cable channel (non-HD) on the LCD at the same time
plus use HD-capable DVR, viewable from 42"

i can't figure out how to set these boxes up to do that. anyone have suggestions?

I'm sorry - I'm not quite understanding your post. So you have a STB hooked up to each of your TVs, right? What sort of connection are you using for each TV. It's possible that you're not outputting with what is needed to display true HD (relatively speaking of course).

Do your TVs take component, DVI, HDMI?

What is their native resolutions, and have the STBs been set to output either 720p/1080i/1080p?

I'm not sure what outputs the 3412 is capable of - I'm sure someone with that knowledge will chime in here.
