I'm new to MythTV/linux and just got my setup running. I was wondering if there is anyway to make it play a intro video (Welcome to our home theater) before the main movie. I am using Ubuntu 7.04 and vlc as the video player.

Any ideas?

This shouldnt be hard. What you would need to do is to edit the command line where it calls mplayer or what ever player you use.

Point it to the intro you want to play. Or an easier way to do this, would be to edit the video and just add the intro.

If its a movie you keep on your machine, I would edit the movie, that way every time you watch it, it shows the intro.
