Here is my setup.
TV is Sony 42E2000 connected via HDMI to 4250HDC cable box. (COMCAST)
Tivo Series 2 connected via S-VIDEO to 4250HDC cable box.

Here is my problem.
When the TV is OFF the Cable box will not send a signal to the TIVO.
I get a content protection error. (on S-VIDEO?) I also tried composite.
If I disconnect the HDMI cable from the cable box, S-VIDEO works and
it also works with the TV on. So I can't use the TIVO to record unless
the TV is on. Is there some setting in the Cable box to fix this?

Thanks!

Hook up the TV via cmponent. HDMI is two way,and the cable box knows the TV is off and won't send any signal.

Dave,

Yeah thats what I'll probably do, but the S-VIDEO shouldn't have
copy protection, the manual even says to use it when hooking up
a VCR, unless they think you only record when your TV is on.
