This is an absolutely wonderful, timeless film. I've seen this movie countless times and never tire of it.
Please release a deluxe edition with from fully restored camera elements (fully supervised by Robert A. Harris) and an archival grade 4k scan of said elements under the direction of the DP and director Rob Reiner.
Then go the extra mile like you did with Easy Rider and Das Boot, and do a high caliber 24 bit/96 kHz re-master, 5.1 re-mix of the original dialog stems, new 24 bit Foley and non-library, from the ground up 24 bit sound effects recordings of the vintage automobiles, trains, forest sounds, etc., and 24 bit restored versions of the classic rock and ballad music featured throughout.
Get Gary Rydstrom and Ben Burtt to head the new 24 bit/96 kHz sound mix.
Then do a feature length, non-fluff piece in-depth documentary (like the wonderful 12 Monkeys, Brazil, and Jaws docs) with new interviews of Rob Reiner, Stephen King, the cast and crew (hopefully, together), River Phoenix rememberance, behind the scenes footage, etc.
24/96 PCM or TrueHD lossless (no dial norm) audio track direct from the new audio master.
There are so many crap movies getting new Blu-ray disc releases... why not a real classic of substance?
Thank you.
