Hi all Blue-ray friends !

Do anyone of you know any hope of re-release of the "The Phantom of the Opera" with improved audio using DD True HD or DTS-HD ?!

This is one of a very great classic, and need to be "sounding" high-definition instead of the existing DD 5.1 ?!

Any hint ?

The HD DVD features a true HD track so I would have to guess that it should.

Kampf kobold,

Dumb Question: Will that be dubbed in German with sub-titles or english with German sub-titles? I have wanted to buy this but, I will not buy ANY BDs catalog or not, that have only a DD sound track, unless they were only mono or stereo on the orignal SD (like The Searchers).

Regards,
Dom

Are there any releases of Blu-ray Dreamgirls from other regions with better audio? This was another case where HD DVD got the stronger audio track.

Wedlock ,
Amazon UK has no listing for any version of Phantom of the Opera with DTS HD. I see one that is coming out on Sept. 30 but it is a PAL version. What version do you have (UPC would be helpful) and where did you get it?
Thanks,
Dom

Could anyone of you show me the "link" to the Region 'A' of The Phantom of the Opera Blue-ray with DTS HD audio soundtrack ?

The UK release is region B and DTS-HD HR not MA.

Any news on this? IMO, WB's first BD release of this movie is an insult to the great music in it! They should really re-release it.

BTW, the 1st batch of PotO HD-DVDs had level issues with the TrueHD track. Is it fixed somehow through H/W, or re-released with correct audio track?

You could import the Japanese BD release. It has both a TrueHD and PCM track.

There is a possibility that Warner will re-release Phantom of the Opera with the TrueHD track that the HD DVD version featured. Much like how they released a newer Blu-ray version of Superman Returns with a PCM track (although its not widely available).

A DTS-HD Master Audio track isn't going to happen as Warner doesn't use that particular codec.

That's perfectly fine with me.

I say "down with DTS-HD Master Audio". Hardly anybody can play it, so why put it on the disks? And no, I'm not buying another player just for that. I'm keeping my 10A until the wheels fall off.

Try www.hmv.co.jp

it's much cheaper there (cheaper disc, cheaper shipping and they also cut taxes on the price on final checkout page for international orders).

No luck with that. All I get is this message:

The delivery address you have selected is outside of our international shipping area.
Our international shipping service is limited within EMS's coverage area.

I'd find that very unusual. Since they have delivered even on countryside here in Brazil.

Try shooting them an e-mail.
