Good afternoon. Thank you for allowing me to request some help. I have a difficult time explaining this so bear with me please!

I have Cox DVR on a Motorola DCT6412/2000 box. After the firmware updated to version 16.36 I have had problems rewinding/fast-forwarding within 1-3 minutes of the beginning or end of a recording or live TV show.

Take this as an example. I'm watching a tennis match and pause the live broadcast just as a commercial starts. When I get back from the frig 3 minutes later I hit the FF button to skip through the commercials.The result is I will FF through the first 60 seconds of commercials, then totally skip the next 2 minutes all together and begin viewing live TV. As a result I skip over the first minute or so of the match when it resumes.

In other words, I am unable to fast-forward to the end of the commercial break. I either must watch the commercials, miss the first minute of the program when it resumes, or make excessive use of the rewind button. This makes watching sports annoying because you see the result of a play before you actually see the play, even if you choose the rewind option.

Talking to Cox tech support has not done much. I can't make them understand my problem. They had me download the firmware again and it changed nothing, now they want me to switch the box out. I don't want to do that if this problem is with firmware version 16.36 because it would solve nothing and I'd lose all my saved shows and settings.

So, has any one else experienced this? Is this an intended behavior or a known bug? Do you think I will just have to bite the bullet and switch the box out?
