I'm looking for a way to control my PS3, and right now, the only thing that shows up is using a USB IR dongle. Doing that has issues. You can't turn the PS3 on/off, and it detects the dongle as the first game controller.

I have a HTPC running mythtv with a bluetooth dongle sitting nearby. Would it be possible to emulate the bluetooth PS3 remote using that? I've tried searching for information, but all I've found are the aforementioned IR solutions, and how to use the SIXAXIS in Windows.

I asked the same question about three months ago, and got no good answer. I believe someone who has significant time, and perhaps access to a Bluetooth protocol analyzer, as well as good protocol hacking skills, might be able to make it happen. Unfortunately, I only have one of three.

From what I've read, the "driver" is really just a custom peering method. It initializes the controller, after which its used as a standard HID device.

Nevermind. The drivers only work when it is plugged into USB anyway.
