Ok, so recently I became format neutral, and am trying to get info on the software picture quality and sound quality of movies I am interested in. Instead you have to fish through them bypassing all the bull$hit "Blu-Ray this, HD-DVD that" threads. It is the same garbage over and over. So I am asking the moderators and the people that run AVS, why this is allowed? All I am asking is a place to go, that is similar to the Standard DVD area, where you can go just to read up on new software.
as long as there are 2 competing formats, there will always be fanboys. As long as AVS is allowed those kind of posts, there will be tons of useless threads. AVS just felt victim to it. What a shame of what happened to AVS.

I have seen that some of the other websites have sections that are dedicated to just movie reviews and nothing else. Problem is that none of them get the volume of people that AVS does. If we had a section for reviews, and a section for all the fanboy commentary, it would save a lot of time, for those of us that don't care about the rumors.

Try a Canadian forum; they tend to be a little less fanboy-ish over there.

Nope. At redflagdeals.com Midnightwatcher created a thread for HD DVD and rabid Blu Ray fans crap in the thread daily.

The latest back and forth is between Midnightwatcher and another member about the Paramount 18 month 150m false rumor.
It does seem to be more Blu Ray members crapping than HD DVD ones. They have their own threads and even their own daycare forum, but still seem to slither their way into positive HD DVD areas to lay turds...
It's funny that some of them wonder why the HD-DVD forums have more members then BR forums. If they didn't bother coming into the HD forums the count in HD wouldn't be so high. Besides the fact that most people prefer the lower prices of HD (among other reasons) it's shouldn't be no surprise. It's funny to see a BR fan come into a HD forum and ask why their are so many HD members. When I read posts like this I can't be the only one wondering that they are contributing to the number count.
